Trending: Holiday gift ideas
for women, from the experts
Wondering what the women in your life want for Christmas? Check out Falling Water Books & Collectables on Main Street downtown.
Since opening in 1988, Falling Water has become an Ann Arbor institution. Among the eclectic merchandise you’ll find breathtaking jewelry, gemstones and unique books. Joan Riemer and Anna Bobo, Falling Water’s merchandise experts, gave me the scoop on the following hot gift ideas. (Note: Kay Gould-Caskey and Jim Johnston, who founded the store 26 years ago along with original partner Phyllis Martin, have announced that Falling Water will close its downtown location by the end of the year. Plans to open at a new site have been tossed around but not finalized.)
Kathy Bransfield necklaces: “They’ll always remember who gave it to them and what the occasion was,” Joan told me.
Ayala Bar’s necklaces and earrings
Philadelphia Museum of Art: Necklaces and earrings which seem to radiate light.
Deborah Richardson Designs: Cold metal sheets and wires sculpted into elegant pieces.
Besides jewelry, check out stocking stuffers like artistic umbrellas, Snoozies (the softest slippers ever), a collection of lavender- and eucalyptus-scented stuffed animals and sleep masks, WoodWick candles and more.
