Art Wars

The cartoonist, Mike Mosher, Pioneer ’73, is professor of art/communication & digital media at Saginaw Valley State University, where he supports his students’ community art research (svsu.edu/care). Mike says Ann Arbor educators Sally Ryan, Cecil North and Jon Lockard helped prep him for adventures as a community muralist for the San Francisco Art Commission, onscreen design in Silicon Valley, comics and cartoon illustration.

Usually, this just means Jim, one of our partners, uploaded the article. There's an off chance it could be an intern, though, so be nice.

Just stumbled across this “Art Wars” bit from a couple of years back. Back in the late 70s, my friends John Copley and Zeke Mallory, of Crow Quill Graphics, had a nice, one-of-a-kind baseball cap made up for me, with Art Wars embroidered across the front, in honor of my assessment of our annual July event. This was back when the original Star Wars was still relatively fresh, and folks hadn’t had a few decades to play with it yet.

    Wish I still had it!
